Self care at home in an emergency

• Hold a cold compress on the side of your face
• Rinse your mouth with a salt water solution

The root canal procedure

The length of the procedure will depend on the complexity of the tooth root. In general, you can expect the following treatment journey:

• A local aesthetic will be given to ensure that you do not experience and pain during treatment
• The tooth will be opened to access the root canal system
• The root canal system will be thoroughly cleaned to remove infection
• The root canal system will be filled and temporarily sealed
• Once the tooth has settled the tooth will be permanently filled and crowned
